SPHE

Here is something for SPHE:

‘Social, Personal and Health Education, as part of the curriculum, supports the personal development, health and well-being of young people and helps them create and maintain supportive relationships’

S.P.H.E. provides students with a unique opportunity to develop the skills and competence to learn about themselves, to care for themselves and others, and to make informed decisions about their health, personal lives and social development. Further information is available here

SPHE is a short course in Sacred Heart Secondary School, it was introduced as a short course in September 2022. It has been designed for approximately 100 hours of student engagement and students will complete a Classroom-Based Assessment in second or third year. The results from the Classroom-Based Assessment will be included on the Junior Cycle Profile of Achievement (JCPA).

The SPHE short course specification was first published in 2016 and was updated in 2023. Students starting first year in September 2023 will be studying the 2023 specification. Please review the parents information leaflet on the updated specification. here
