Achievements in Music

Senior students Allyson Madden, Rachel Grimes, Michelle Phelan and Eleanor Nulty have been chosen to receive a Permanent TSB High Achiever Award 2008 for outstanding performance at the recent Local Centre examinations. The High Achiever Awards were introduced in 2000 to recognise the work and talents of students entering the Local Centre Examination System. Well done girls!

Transition Year Student Success

Eithne Nic an Riogh, Transition Year, was the winner of the Feis Ceoil, Piano Solo Under 15 and the Cello Solo, Under 17 Competitions at the 2009 Feis Ceoil. Subsequently she was awarded the Junior Piano Rosebowl by the Feis Ceoil. Congratulations Eithne!

Traditional Irish Musicians visit the Sacred Heart School

Top Irish piper, Ronan Browne, and Sean Corcoran on the bouzouki presented a wonderful workshop to students in the Sacred Heart as part of the Borough Council's School's Music Programme. The students experienced Irish traditional music at its best. Many thanks to these visiting musicians.
