The students involved participated in the Tocaire Lenten Campaign by making personal sacrifices with their pocket money and gave their savings to the Campaign.
Sacred Heart Opening Mass
The students, teachers & staff of the Sacred Heart School celebrated the school's opening Mass in St. Mary's Church on Thursday 24th Sept. The Mass was celebrated on Mercy Day to create an awareness of school's founders, the Mercy Sisters. Students from all years took part in the ceremony by reading, singing, playing in the orchesteral group and presenting gifts at the altar. Our Parish Priest, Fr. Nulty was the celebrant of the ceremony and gave the girls a lovely personal homily with which the girls could identify. The choir sang beautifully and many choir member sang solo pieces accompanied by the orchesteral group. Thank you to the teachers involved in the preparation and organisation of the Mass, Ms. Coyle, Mrs. Collins, Ms. Madden, Ms. Carroll, and Ms Brady.
