Motivational Talk
The 1st and 2nd year students along with 8 teachers headed off to the new Tommy Leddy theatre on Monday 9th November to attend a talk by Motivational Speaker Alvin Law. Alvin had the girls enthralled for an hour with stories from his own life and how he overcame the many obstacles he faced. He was born in the 1960's in Canada (without arms) as a result of his mother taking Thalidomide during her pregnancy. His story truly inspired the girls and they left with the message that anything is attainable. A big thank you to Ms. O'Donnell who organised the trip as part of their SPHE course.
SPHE....St. Martha's Pamper Afternoon!!
St. Martha's class organised a pamper afternoon in relation to their SPHE curriculum. They headed to the Home Economics room whereby they applied face masks, steamed their faces, massaged, cleansed, toned and moisturised and also placed cucumbers on their eyes to relieve signs of tiredness and stress! They also manicured their nails. They had a very enjoyable afternoon and they got to put into practice all the theory they had been learning in their SPHE class. Looking good girls!!
