Board Of Management

The trustees of the school introduced a Board of Management in October 1991. The introduction of the board represents a new perception of education as a community enterprise, and of the school as a community in itself, made up of management, teachers, parents and pupils, united in a common purpose to achieve the best possible fulfilment of their aims and expectations.

The trustees of this school are the Sisters of Mercy of the Northern Province. In May 2007, this trustship became part of CEIST (Catholic Education Irish School Trust). Through the Articles of Management, the trustees delegate their powers to the Board of Management, which now becomes legally responsible for the conduct, management and financial administration of the school, while guaranteeing that it will undertake it’s responsibility in the context of the Catholic ethos and educational criteria laid down by the trustees.

The board consists of 8 persons.
Four members nominated by the trustees.
Two parents elected by parents whose children are currently attending the school.
Two permanent lay teachers elected by the permanent members of staff.
The principal of the school is secretary to the board.
