• Thursday 15th September – approximately 80 x 6th Year attendance at Higher Options Guidance Event, RDS
• Tuesday 20th September at 11.05am - NUI Maynooth, Fiona Casey – Talk for 6th Years
• Thursday 22nd September:  Third Year Study Skills Seminar (Library)

• Wednesday 28th September:  Fifth Year Study Skills Seminar (Library)

• Thursday 29th September:  1st Year Study Skills Seminar (Library)

• 2nd Year Guidance Module begins
• Tuesday, 4th October - Aware ‘Beat the Blues’ Talk for 5th Years to coincide with World Mental Health Week w/c 10th October 2011
• Thursday 6th October – DCU Speaker, Colette O’Beirne – Talk for 6th Years
• Thursday 13th October – DIT Speaker, Joe O’Sullivan – Talk for 6th Years
• Friday 14th October – Dundalk IT Open Day for approximately 52 x 6th Year students
• Thursday 20th October:  Love For Life Relationship & Sexuality Ed Workshops (Library)

• Thursday 27th October – Pontifical University Maynooth speaker – Talk for 6th Years

November

• First Year Parent/Guardian Meetings begin
• Tuesday 15th November:  Sticks & Stones Anti-Bullying Drama Workshop for 2nd Year students
• 2nd Year Guidance Module ends
• 3rd Year Guidance Module in preparation for Senior Cycle Subject Choice
• Wednesday 30th November at 8pm - CAO Information Evening  for students and their parents/guardians in school

December

• Samaritans Talks on Positive Emotional Health x 4 for 5th Years
• Past Pupils’ Talk on life after the Sacred Heart for 5th & 6th Years
• Computer Workshops for CAO and PLC Applicants

January

• Speakers from Colleges of Further Education for all 6th Years and LCA students
• UCAS Closing Date:  15th January

February

• CAO Closing Date:  CAO Calendar 2011/2012
• End February, 3rd Year Subject Choice Workshop with presentations from subject teachers – All 3rd Years and participating teachers

March

• 1st March 2012:  HEAR/DARE Closing Dates for receipt of supporting documents at CAO.  See www.accesscollege.ie for more information
• Start March - Career Exploration Evening, organised with other Drogheda secondary schools and involving the participation of over 50 professionals - All 3rd Years and Transition Year students
• Post-Junior Certificate Options Evening for Third and Transition Year students
• Incoming First Year Entrance Assessment Day
• Early March – Differential Aptitude Tests for 5th Years – Full Day
• Mid March – Dr. Natasha Tighe (Holistic Psychotherapist) Talks for TY, 5th & 6th Year
• End March – TY Trip to DCU or other HEI

• End April – 5th Year UCD Campus Visit for 52 x 5th Year students
• Incoming First Year Information Evening
