Gaelic Football
Gaelic Football training takes place on a Thursday at 3.30-4.30pm. It is well attended by our enthusiastic students. We have an under 14 team and a Senior Team which are currently training hard for the Leinster League. Teachers Ms Lynch, Ms. Smith and Ms Horan train the Gaelic team.

The first match of the '10-'11 season for the Sacred Heart gaelic team took place on a sunny yet windy day in St.Nicholas' pitch in Drogheda on October 20th. It was against St.Oliver's, a formidable opponent. This was a special day as it was not only the first match of the season, but it was the first time in quite a while that the school had a senior team, much to the appreciation of the sixth year players.
The first half was very tough. After a few stern words and invigorating speeches from the coaches and prefects, the team got it's act together and jumped into gear. It was a different game in the second half. The team worked hard for each other, passed the ball well and managed to score a few goals. Unfortunately St.Oliver's couldn't be beaten but the team can hold their heads high after an outstanding second half performance.
