The Leaving Certificate Applied (LCA) programme is a distinct self- contained two year programme, aimed at preparing students for adult and working life. The programme puts an emphasis on many forms of achievement and excellence, which the established Leaving Certificate has not recognised in the past.
The LCA focuses on the talents of each individual student and helps students apply what they learn in the classroom into the real world. The students study many new subjects such as Hotel and Catering, Childcare, Hair & Beauty and Social Education. All students study Science modules, which greatly enhances opportunities when pursuing courses in further education with a scientific element.
Since starting the programme in 2011, our students are graduating with exceptional results, with the majority of students awarded distinctions in the final examinations.
